Alright, i want to take text out of a movie i have, i just recently got 2 fast 2 furious and backed it up on my compter but it had french in subs, or something, and i broke the dvd so i cant re rip it, is there a way to get the text out of the movie with out cropping?

Sounds like you d/l a french rip which someone hardcoded the subtitles when encoding,lets just say you somehow you goofed up and did a copy with perm subtitles and broke your dvd by whatever means then you are out of luck,if its a real backup copy then you should be able to switch off the subtitles.

no i ripped the dvd to divx and i just wanna know how to get the subtitles out? still shit out of luck?

Your out of luck,once its hard encoded subtitles cant be removed.

I think if you know how to do a proper dvd rip then you should have enough knowledge on what you are doing thus you would know how to take away the subs.
well if you hardcoded the subs into the video stream then it's your own fault. -
On the bright side, if you do, in fact, own a copy of 2 fast 2 furious, you could conceivably go to blockbuster and rent 2 fast 2 furious and rip it. You would then have a backup of the rental, but you own it already. I think that may be your only choice (other than watch the movie with french subs).
Why you would rip the movie to divx with French subs in the first place is beyond me... but I will not argue.
