  1. Hi Guys

Just after some help if possible.

I am trying to play music cd's either through Windows Media Player or iTunes but when I do the music is jumpy.

It used to be fine but in the past few weeks the playback is pants. I haven't changed anything on my computer so am not sure why it's poor. I have no big applications running in the background either.

I am running Windows XP Pro, Pentium 3, 1ghz, 512 SDRAM.

    Any idea's because I am baffled ??

    Thanks for any help.

It sounds like an application IS running that you may be unaware of. An anti virus or firewall may be the culprit. Try doing a defrag on your hd too. It's a long shot, but it can't hurt.

Try uninstall the sound driver in device manager, then restart your computer. Or reinstall the software that came with the sound card.

Its a longshot but what about any other electrical devices close by ? These could cause interference.
    If in doubt, Google it.

One other thing: When this happens, are you listening to the music through your speakers, or head-phones? And if it's happening through your speakers, have you tried head-phones? Or visa-versa? It might be your speakers, or head-phones... And as jimmalenko stated, it may be interference from other devices near your speakers, or the placment of your speakers.
