  1. Hi

When I burn a disk at 2.4x or higher my players Panasonic DVD-L10 and Phillips DVD 793C won't play any of these disks. But seem to work fine when burning at 1x and 2x speed. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix the problem or do I just have to burn at the lower speeds?
I use DVDShrink 1.1.0 to rip and shrink files and DVD Decryptor 3.1.9.0 to rip, use ImgTool 1.1.0. Getting fustrated by this!!

If the speed is 2.4x then it must be DVD+R/W media.

Can not burn DVD+R/W at 1x
    2.4x is the standard speed

  3. I am using Maxell DVD+R and the warning label says This DVD+r Disc is designed for recording with 1x,2.4x & 4x write compatible DVV +R drives. Every time I pop up Imagetool and click on the speed it will say 2.0x, 2.4x , or 4x which should I use? If I use the 2.4x the disk won't read it the player only on my computer!

  4. I think I'm reading the disk package wrong. I wrote a disk at 2.0x speed and it play perfect! I haven't burned anything at 4.x speed because every Memorex or Maxell I have done this with will skip in the Panasonic and Phillips but will play fine in the computer or most recently bought Pioneer DV 250!

  5. Desktop DVD recorders record at 1x
    Computer DVD+R/W writers do at 2.4x, 4x or 8x
Theres no such thing as 2xDVD+R/W recording.

Writing a full disc at 2.4x should take 22-24 minutes.

If you're writing ISO image I suggest DVD Decrypter.
If writing VIDEO_TS then Nero or RecordNow.

  6. Hi Back again

Ok the problem I'm having. Problem writing to a Maxell DVD+R Disk, when I burn with ImagTool or anyother program (Nero,DVD Decryptor, etc) the speed on the control will give me a choice of choosing 2.0x, 2.4x, 4.0x. If I burn a disk at 2.4x the players will not play the disk. I'm not kidding it will say speed at 2.4x and will burn at that speed but will not play in the players!!! I've even tried to burn at the other speeds and the Phillips player will not play this disk, it just skips alot! I'll probably go back to the DVD-R's they seem to work alot better. End of story!
    Thanks for the feedback!
