  1. i have the above machine and when i use the timer record feature to record a program on tv and to automatically renew the recording for the following week it records over the first recording??

    confused??

    ok

i recored eg easterders on the monday 1st of a month,
it automatically renews the timer for the exact same time on monday 8th
when it records on the 8th - it records OVER the program on the 1st??

so when i go to play them - i can only watch the 8th as the 1st has been recorded over??

    Help me PLEASE...

  2. That is exactly what the renew function does. It replaces the previous recording of a program with the latest episode. If you want it to keep previous episodes, you have to turn renew off. On my DMR-E80H, the renew option is located on each timer recording line on the far right of the screen. I would expect it to be in the same place on the HS2.

I suspect you're misunderstanding what renew does. It's purpose is not to make the timer repeat week after week or day after day, but to save hard drive space by making only the latest episode available. Setting the date to Every Sunday, Monday, etc. will take care of repeat recording. Only use renew when you want to conserve hard drive space and keep the latest episode.

    Hope this helps.
