I understand that it`s more of a preference issue with alot of people.I`m just trying to get a couple of suggestions.I`ve never had any use for ripping cds but I recently got a walkman with that Atrac3 plus format. You know, the format that is compressed so much that you can fit almost 500 songs on one cd.The highest bitrate that I see in the manual is 132kbps.This allows 170 songs onto one cd.Sounds good to me.
In your opinion, what`s the best program to rip cds?I`m not concerned with it being free or not.I just want the best one.
Also,if anyone has had any experience with the Atrac format then I`d appreciate any advice or comments.
Thanks

I prefer CDex, but that's because I always use Vorbis. It also supports MP3 and AAC but it looks like you have to download the codec and show CDex the path to it. That's probably because AAC isn't a free codec.
It's even got CDDB support which makes filling in all the songs on a CD a breeze.
You'll find the latest CDex at http://www.cdex.n3.net/ and if you're interested in Vorbis (which is really rather good, and very free!) try http://www.vorbis.com.
