Was not sure were to post this. I got a teac 516 drive to take the burden of reading dvds off my burner.
the problem is when ever i try to backup a disk with a layer break with clone dvd dvd shrink or nero recode it errors about half way thru I assume were the layer break is. With a single layer disk works fine.
The only work around is to either use my burner or dycrypt it in file mode and then transcode from hd. If I decrypt it in iso and mount it to a virtual drive it does not work either?
Any one have any thoughts?

If it is a DVD-9, I always decrypt in file then transcode with DVDShrink. Your DVD-ROM maybe faulty, the disc could have a scratch, or it might be something with your region (probably not though). Did you try more than one DVD-9? If so does it mess up at the exact same percent or area?

Try to update the firmware for your drive. If that doesnt work take it back or get a new drive (LiteOn's are pretty good bang ot the buck). Keep me posted. Best of Luck.
