  1. Anyone out there have this recorder and been successful in editing the created DVD via TMPEGnc DVD author??? I can't seem to get it to read the files in the VIDEO_TS folder on the created DVD's. Any help would be great...I have tried other programs as well, and none of them seem to read the DVD, does this recorder encrypt the DVD or something???

    Thanks!

  2. I use Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 to extract edit discs created on the Cyberhome CH-DVR 1500 and reauthor to DVD-R on my Pioneer 106 DVD Drive.

  3. You need to make the disc compatible in the Cyberhome CH-DVR 1500 before you try and edit it on the PC.

  5. Mediaman2000,

Nevermind the last post...As long as i don't actually edit the video it seems to ok! I solved the "menus are over the 30MB limit" problem by specifying not to add the project file to the disc.

    Thanks,

  6. You are correct about the AC3 audio. It converts it to PCM which is a much larger file size. You can edit the template before edit/converting so that 'do not convert compatible mpg' (or something like that as I can't check right now) is unchecked and change the audio from PCM to MPeg2 (much smaller file size enabling you to maintain the size of your video). It will then create two files a .mpa for the audio and a .m2v for the video. If you wish to add other video to the DVD, i.e. combine two discs to one with commercials removed then you can simply stop the edit after it has converted the files and multiplex them together using your program of choice ready for import into your new combined project.

    Mediaman2000,

Do you actually open a new project and import the video from the DVD??? Or do you just use the Edit DVD option in ulead? If i import the video into my ULEAD project then i loose the sound.

    Thanks,

  8. I use the edit disc option first which first copies the file as one big mpg file to your default location on your hardrive. From there you can change your project settings and mpeg setting to customize the audio format to mpeg. This will ensure that you keep you audio. Then just edit out the commercials and it will save the video and audio onto the hardrive. Then you can just add to a new project like any other mpeg file.

  9. Good deal...Does the audio and video stayed synced after doing this? or do you have to fiddle with it to get it right?

  10. The audio and video appear to be in sync.

    Don't you mean DVD+RW??

I read em in a liteon 16X drive.

Anyhoo, having just picked one up sunday, I did the new firmware upgrades, (2)?

I had a bunch of memorex +RW 2.4 that I've been using to capture to, Rip to the Computer with DVD Decrypter 3.1.7.0

Then DVD Author to trim and rechapter, re-menu.

It seems Ok on Movies, but I did a bunch of little music clips that it only opened teh first one, others errored.

SO I'm doing another Music DVD, where I'll just let it keep recording and edit in DVD Author, by re-adding the same video multiple times. I'll see what happens that way.

Only weirdness is that Power DVD plays the open (not finalized) RWs but won't let me move the slider to change positions in the title, chapter and FF/Rev work ok thO. overall, quality of capture seems Ok, not what I could get doing it into the computer but close enough for the quantity I have to do. I might could do one a day or so in the computer, but cap, rip, re-author, burn adds approx 30 minutes to the process so much faster.

    Good Luck

  13. I can view the dvd+rw on the computer, but when DVDShrink or my Ulead program tries to copy the disc I keep getting errors... I can't get the files from the disc to the hard drive and have them recognized by the software I use....
