  1. I have ten 30 second MPEG2 files I have created in TMPGENC and would like to author/burn them to a DVD+R without re-encoding them. Nero Vision Express seems to be re-encoding them at a standard 5 mbps bitrate. Something I don't want to do as the MPEGS are almost at 9mbps bitrate. Does anyone know how I can tell NVE to NOT re-encode. I know there are other tools but I want to try with NVE first before I give up.

I spent a lot of time getting my home videos 'just so' and would like to keep them intact before burning. I know they are to the DVD video spec already.

  3. Thanks for the help but a search came up with nothing relevant. So my question remains. Can I author MPEG's with NVE without re-encoding them? If yes how? I know how to do this with a complete VIDEO_TS folder but since I am creating a simple menu in NVE I can't go that route.

  4. Well I demo'ed TMPGENC DVD Author and was very impressed. It does exactly what I want. I think I will stop fiddling with Nero. I could not find anywhere where the DVD standard MPEG files could used directly. It always tries to re-encode them at its bitrate. In TDE you can author without re-encoding.
