  1. Hello! Just wondering if anyone knew what the 'Jacket_P' folder is for on some commercial dvds. They always seem to contain small .mp2 files. For that matter, does anyone know what that 'P' and the 'TS' in
'VIDEO_TS' stands for? Simple questions I know, but it's starting to bug me. Thanks!

I believe the P just stands for picture. Those images you see are called jacket pictures and they are only supported by some DVD player, maybe only Sony ones. What they do is replace the generic splash screen that your DVD player shows. So if you are watching the movie and hit stop, you see that picture.

I don't know what the TS stands for but my guess would be transport stream.

Sorry, adam, I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean Transport Stream, as DVD's don't make use of transport streams. They use a specialized form of program stream.

My guess would be "Title Sets".

Hmm, I'd like to change my guess to Title Sets then.
