OK.. First due to a bad WinXP update install I had to do a full reinstall of my system mid December.

Since then I have had some strange troubles..
But thought that I had most of my troubles fixed...

    Till yesterday..
Now the DVD+R's that I burn are not readable on my "Cyberhome CH-DVD-402" set-top box!?
[some times it will read my DVD+ RW and other times it will not!?!]
The disc(s) are readable on a RCA and Emerson set-top boxes in other parts of the home.
I do not remember installing any new software or even rebooting..

Is there any way to test my computer set up?
I run both Nero-6, Ulead DVD MovieFactory

  2. since the disc(s) will play on some set tops and not your cyberhome, would suspect either your player or a change in brand of discs that you are now burning.

see user coments about your player nn "dvd players" over in l/h column this page. pay attention to player versions and firmware comments.

I was using the same brand of disc's from the same spindel.

I hav had troubles with the 'Cyberhome' playing some DVD's and not others since I got my burner.

I think that I got it fixed [for a while any way!]

I am unsure which did the fix...

    [1] I uninstalled Nero-6 and reinstalled Nero-5x
[2] Found a newer firmware for my DVD+RW drive.. NEC
has never supported it {in the USA} and so for the last four or
five firmware update have been user written or users have tried
to use the NEC 1300 firmware.. so updated the
    firmware..
[3] Reinstalled Nero-5 and burned a DVD... this was
the first one that worked in 11 coasters.....
