My DVDR's that I captured, edited, encoded, and authored play fine on my Toshiba DVD player but when I use the Fast Forward button, it either doesn't work or it halts and just starts to Play again (ie. I get the "no can do" symbol). Anybody know why this could be? My authored footage is encoded from .avi to .m2 using .wav audio with an avg. bitrate of 6000kb and 8000kb max. Not sure if this is a problem with bit rate, authoring software, encoding software (TMPGEnc), or what...

try your disks on another player or two to see if the problem follows the disks - if not, time to get your toshiba looked at.
