I am having problems with converting a captured video to burn it to dvd.
I have captured video from my Sony minidv camcorder with no dropped frames. I can edit the movie ok and add transitions and effects and menus ok. When I try to make the movie Studio stops at the rendering video stage somewhere and says "an error has ocurred with this file". I have tried this with short clips of video of about 2 seconds with no menus or effects and the result is the same.
I have tried Pinnacle support and only got the usual "update to the latest version and do not run any other programs at the same time crap".
Has anyone else had similar problems and how did you fix them? Also does anyone know if an error log is created in Studio and how to find it.

I am using WinXP Pro, Pinnacle Studio V8 DV.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Ian.

That's the problem with this program, it either works for you or doesn't at all. I got mine to work once I stopped overclocking my CPU, the program would just freeze when rendering. Ever since then I haven't had any problems either with analog or digital video.

There are some helpful people in the Pinnacle User Forums, if I remember correctly some of their suggestions were to capture in short AVI clips and then combine them into one larger project. Or if your project stops at one particular frame all of the time edit out that frame and try again. Make sure to defragment your hard drive. Also, make sure that you don't have any background tasks occurring on your computer; you may even want to unplug your ethernet connection.
