I just put in a dvdr i made and it flickers black and white when i play it in my DVD player, the audio plays fine however. Im assuming this is a PAL dvdr and thats why im having troubles playing it because it plays fine on my DVDRom.
I have a Pioneer DV-333 standalone dvd player and I have a North American TV, are there any settings I can mess with to get this thing to play or do I have a coaster that will only play on my DVD Rom.
What program can tell me if a VOB is PAL or NTSC so I dont waste another cd trying to find out.

PAL is 50hz NTSC is 60hz. In other words, NTSC TVs are capable of playing PAL signles, and vice versa. There are TVs that play both, but they are rather expensive, but very popular in Europe. There are hardware converters that can convert between the two in realtime, or you can convert it on your computer to NTSC by re-encoding the video and re-burning.

There are standalone converter boxes that you plug into your TV that do the conversion in realtime, and no loss in quality. But if your convert your files and reburn and you will loose quality.
