    I have an unmodded XBOX and would like to use it as my main source of DVD playback. I have a Lite-On 411s and am wondering if Ritek G04s are a good choice to use in my XBOX. If anyone has any experience or advice I would appreciate it.

    no dvd+r's work in my unmodded xbox just dvd-r?

    That is because you have a tomson drive, a philips drive and a I believe a samsung drive. Some drives supports both some don't. I have a tomson and mine support everything except cd-r. Some drives even supports cd-r.

    How do you find out which drive you have in your XBOX. I got mine about 3 months ago in the U.S.

    take the shell cover off!

    we performed some surgery on my mates xbox and we had a phillips dvdrom inside.
