  2. There's a plugin for TMPGEnc that will allow you to open MOV files, I think I saw it at doom9.net

I use the program MOV2AVI.EXE and then i use the *.AVI file as video input and the *.mov file as audio input in TMPGEncoder to make a VCD or SVCD.
You can use The CCE to make SVCD but the process is a little bit more complicated but the result of the SVCD is much better.
If anybody is interested in more information please say so and i will post a complete guide after i get off work.

  4. Download QTReader.zip and uncompress on TMPGEnc folder. With that you can open mov files form TMPGEnc. My problem is that VCD quality is not good. And as for SVCD , DVD players I have tested do not support it . Any suggestions ?

  5. If you get Quicktime Pro 5, then you can Export the MOV file to an AVI file - Choosing Uncompressed Video and Uncompressed Audio processes faster (and I think makes best quality). Then open the AVI file up in TMPGenc and make your MPG file. MPG file burns to VCD.

  6. The qt plugin for TMPGenc only works if you have quicktime 4 installed (not 5, and I don't know where to find 4). I use Rad Video Tools. This will convert the mov (and several other sources) to AVI. This is a frame-by-frame transfer so I normally use the huffyuv codec to keep file sizes down.

Some MOV files have protected audio, if so use Total Recorder to save the sound to a wav file. See the "Convert" link to the left for more info on both programs.
