I watched the first episode. I think they are making it more difficult for these contestants. At least in the first 2 they had water. Plus that water that they are boiling must taste terrible! And my guess is that there is less food in this new place also. Also, I was suitable unimpresses by the survivability of some of these cast members, in particular:
Clarence Black
Who distinguished himself by stealing food on day (2, possibly day 3). By day 2 you shouldn't be hungry enough to steal. Plus it was while everyone else was working. So he has already establishing himself as someone who doesn't do much work and eats too much, plus nobody trusts him.
Diane Ogden
Who distinguished herself by being weak, probably due to hydration and ended up getting voted off the island for it. In her parting words she said it was a lot tougher than I thought it would be. To which I say duhhhhhhh. Your going to a continent that is famous for starvation and deprivation. Afghanistan might be the only place that's worse (maybe!).
The whole cast, in general seemed unprepared. Only one seems to have bulked up for the experience. The rest seemed more concerned for their appeareance for the TV camera. I didn't see anyone doing obviuos things like straining that dirty water they got, etc and only 1 tribe could make a fire (and even then using a lens from a telescope). On the first survivor one tribe made a fire using bifocals. Didn't they watch this? Makes me wonder.

my only thought on survivor 3,
ever hear of beating a dead horse?
actually I think we are getting out of hand with the whole reality tv anyway, like the other night I caught this show where the chick dates like 4 guys and does an elimanation type thing. I didn't watch the whole thing, but its like dang overkill here.

The plot line is BORING.
My suggestion:
Air drop all the survivors into Afghanistan. The males would be required to take up a position between the Northern Alliance and the Taliban troops, waving American flags, while the females should be stripped to their underwear and taken to Taliban headquarters to see if any of the religious fanantics spout woodies.
Whoever survives, gets to be rescued by roving CNN reporters, the losers have their choice of staying in Afghanistan or having an all expenses paid two week vaction in either Iran or Iraq. -
I knew that bimbo was gonna go from the opening credits. It was just a matter of her team losing a challenge (which it did largely because of her).

Actually you can tell who is not going to go because they try to make it look like a particular person is about to get booted, then it's always someone else. Like in this episode they made it look like everyone is pissed at Clarence, but then Diane gets the boot.
Rumor has it that on this next episode they are going to eat bugs, and I'm definately going to watch! Gotta love that!

I heard they're drinking animal's blood. And by the way, I'm shocked everyone hates the show so much. I love it. It's that Big Brother show that needs to permanently be turned off.

My first though was ... feed them all to the lions.
But then i starting a thinking ... those poor lions .... -
IMHO, reality TV shows like this wore out their welcome after the second season of the Real World. These people want to be on a game show, the Price is Right is still on(not that I watch it, either).
If I have to see Rudy's mug one more time, I'm gonna spew chunks. (food for the other survivors)

Fear Factor beats all the survivor shows hands down. Where else can you watch someone trying to eat boiled buffalo balls and be put in a pit with 400 live rats, followed by walking on a I beam 200 feet in the air. I don't know if this show reaches the UK, but it was a run-a-way hit this past summer on NBC in the states.
