    Sense 03 ASC 12 ASCQ 00

Address Mark Not Found For Id Field

    Means source media error.

Most ASPI error codes that start with Sense 03, will lead to Source media error codes. A few are temp, and buffer underrun errors.

One of two things can cause this, cheap media, and/or weak laser.

Maybe a cleaning will help out.

Also, media can have a bad batch once in a while. If your using cheap media, that likelyhood is even higher.

To trouble shoot, clean your laser, try again. If that doesn't work, run to the store and grab some TDK, or FujiFilm media.

If the TDK and Fuji media still won't burn, send in the drive for repair.

TDK is either RitekG04, TDK, or Maxell media, Fuji is either RitekG04, ProsdicS03, or Tayio Yuden. TDK DVD+R is Ricoh media.

Re the weak laser: would that explain why my DRU 500A would write CD-RW's but not CR's or anything else? Does the laser operate at differing intensities depending on the media?

I've posted more details in another thread, https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=194063. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

    Writer : Verbatim VBTDVRW1A (NEC DVD+RW ND 1000A)
Burn with TMPGenc DVD Author 1.5...(gave up on NERO, NONE of the discs burned with it work in my standalone players).
    Rip with DVDShrink 3.0

This has become a recurring problem. I rip the disc then go to burn with TMPGenc DVD Author and during the leadin write I get the following error:

    Cmd:42, Scene:3, ASC:115, ASCQ:3
    Writing Errror

And just now, it got all the way to the leadout and gives this error:

    Cmd:91, Scene:0, ASC:0, ASCQ:0
    Internal SCSI Error

What could this mean? I show NO errors or conflicts on my PC, and this has started to happen every time I try and burn a disc. I have tried Maxell DVD+R media and get this error each time I put it in the drive. Less frequent with Philips media, Memorex media, and TDK.
    HELP! please!
    dc:)

Looks as if you need better media.Did you even try my suggestion to use Sony media? Sony writer use Sony media. Pioneer writer use Pioneer media.

Or uninstall your writer from System & restart your computer & it should redetect it. ALso reinstall your ASPI layer.
