I haven't had any problems with my 2001 until now. I was watching a divx file when the player just locked up. Tried to unplug and replug everything but everytime I plug the machine on it just says "power on". I tried holding the eject and plugging in the power cord as well as holding the play and stop button while plugging the power cord but neither resets the player. So now I've got a locked dvd player. Can someone please help?

Mine got frozen at "power on" also. I tried all the button combinations everyone suggested but none of them worked for me. I had to send my player back.

Do you know what kind of Divx file you where watching?
Ie, Divx3, Xvid, high bite rate?? -
I believe it was in divx 5.xx, whatever the newest version is. It was running fine and then all of a sudden just froze. Numbers not moving on the display so I unplugged the machine and replugged and now I'm stuck in "power on" limbo.
I've contacted PC Club to see if I can return the machine but I'm hoping somebody has a fix, I really like the machine, especially for the upscaling. -
Lemme guess, running 301 beta?
Well, I had the same thing happen, and what I did was pull the power, press the eject button, plug the power in and keep holding down the eject button. It then ejected. I plunked in the 229 firmware disc. Pull the power cord. Press and hold play, plug in the power cord while still holding play, and it eventually started up the firmware patch, and all is well.
The trick is to have the button pressed before power is on, and to keep it pressed until the player responds to the signal.

yeah this seems to be a major issue with the 301b
sometimes when it loads up a new divx file it'll go into a endless loop
and just flashing loading on screen, I've to hit stop on the player several
times for it go back to the directory screen
anyways I'm spoiled by the new subtitle support and resisted going back to the more stable firmware
any idea when the final ver will be released? -
OKAY...you won't believe this one. I had my player ready to ship back and I read this thread one more time and tried holding the eject button a little longer....a WHOLE DAY longer. I rigged something up where the eject button was being pressed constantly with the handle of my screwdriver and leaned it up against the wall. As weird as that seems, I just released the handle from the button and tried pushing the eject button again and now my dvd is running fine. I went back to 0229 firmware and will just wait for new official updates. WHEW....I was dreading the whole "mail it back" to the store scenario. Thanks for the help guys!
