I've checked the tutorials but none address converting an entire DVD, it's geared mostly for MPEG & AVI (and a few more).
I backed up "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and it happens to be PAL. My Apex will play it but my progressive scan Pioneer will not.
Any suggestions on converting or making it work?

Then re-author with the new video and audio files.
You will lose all the menus and extras, but that gets the movie done.
