  1. Hello all ,
Roughly , PP has two MPEG2 encoding main options.

    1. MPEG2 - DVD: Creates 2 separated files ,video (.m2v) and audio.
    2. MPEG2 - Generic : Creates 1 MPEG file .

If I intend to encode a project and Author it in the future ( I do not own yet a DVD burner), which option is better ?

Do Authoring programs can handle two separated files , one for video and the other for audio ?

    Thanks,
    Prism.

In fact ALL authoring programs behave their best when presented with separate audio and video files. These two files are known as elementary streams (*.m2v and *.ac3 or *.wav or *.mp2), and how they are muxed together to form the final *.vob can vary from project to project (should they be used in many different DVD-authoring projects). *.mpg is a playable file known as a program stream where the audio and video are already muxed into that one file and is best used for playing back that file on the PC, etc.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".
