Can you make this any clearer? Do you mean to say the DVD doesn't work on your DVD player but does work on your computer? Or did you make two disks and the DVD+RW works but the other disk doesn't?

  4. THe DVD you made is either a DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, or DVD-RW.

A lot of DVD Roms don't play DVD+RW, or DVD-RW

Some stand alone DVD players don't play them either.

Check your player in the DVD player compatability listing over there

  6. I wouldn't call it VERY bad news because you can probably fix it for as little as $40.00. It's time for a new DVD player.

I think he skipped an important step, Mainly authoring the video before burning.

  8. lordrothgar,
soundforbjt is suggesting you may have simply burned an mpg to a DVD rather than using authoring software to create the proper structure for a DVD Video. If you just burned an mpg it certainly won't play on a standalone player.

When you just look at the DVD with explorer by right clicking on the drive and choosing explore do you see an .mpg or do you see a VIDEO_TS folder?
