  1. Can you copy a dvdr to another dvdr, or can you only make a backup from your original?

  2. With RecordNow DX that came with my burner I can do an "exact Copy" from DVD-R to DVD-R.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Cool. Thanks. Im thinking it could be different for other programs, but its good to know that if your original copy gets hit up, you might be able to make a backup from your backup.

  4. Most burning Utilities do a direct copy like RecordNow DX. The fact that you backed it up means that the backup is the right size and has had the encryption removed.

    Good Luck

As long as you are using good media for the "original backup" you should have no problem. However, with cheap media, sometimes when you try to rip the "original" DVDR you may get reading problems.

If you want to be *sure* that you are able to make copies of your copies, it is mandatory that you do a test of your burned disk. Use DVDInfo Pro or Nero CDSpeed to test the disk you have just burned to see if there any read errors. If you are backing up a movie DVD, simply seeing if it plays successfully in your DVD player or DVD-ROM *is not good enough*. Standalone DVD players and DVD movie programs for DVD-ROMs are more tolerant of most read errors than DVD-ROMs or burners are when you are trying to copy a disk.
If you get read errors during testing, recopy the original using a better media or a slower write speed, then test again.
If you don't test, you are taking a chance that you won't be able to copy your copy.
