    Hello

I am trying to use this application to add files that seem to be not supported as the message states..

The video framerate xxxx fps cannot be used for a standard DVD.
You can only use the following framerate for a standard DVD:
    29.97 fps (NTSC format only)
    25 fps (PAL format only)

The files that I am adding are 23.976 NTSC and are VCD compliant. So would there be an authoring application that would allow me to use these non compliant files as DVD Author will not even allow me to add them, as they will play as a VCD in my stand alone player - as a VCD.
Or am I going to have to try and re-encode them to 29.97 fps (assuming that a DVD-r would not play with such encoded file types) and if I did would that be simplistic.? If a conversion is needed would there be any loss of quality in doing this...?

    Thank you for any help

You can use dvd patcher and change it to 29,97 and author and then change back the vobs to 23,976 and burn.

But if you want 100% compliant dvd you must reencode.

    Excellent

I have now used DVD Patcher and ran it on the entire file(s) and as such the authoring application will now recognise it as being compliant. So a collection of patched files is now added and the files are now being authored to a folder.
But if you want 100% compliant dvd you must reencode.
So the folder which contains the authored vobs can be ran through DVD Patcher to be converted from the 29.97 to their original 23.97 and then I can use Nero to burn them as a DVD...?

I then understand it as Nero will use the encoded 23.97 vob as being compliant and it will burn them fine as well as play in my player, rather than leaving the vobs at 29.97..?

Just want to make sure that I'm right on the above

Many thanks to you for your help
