I am new to backuping up my DVDs. I am running a Plextor 708a burner and using this softwareVD Decrypter,DVD2One and Nero 6.3. I have tried to burn to backup 2 DVD movies all seem to go well but when I tried to view both of these backups after the 1st 18-20 minutes on both I started to get "choppy" video, the 1st 18-20 minutes was perfect. I am using Verbatim 4x DVD+Rs but my burner is burning them through Nero at 8X speed, could this be the problem? Should I burn them at slower speeds or is maybe some setting I need to change in software settings?

I guess it was speed burning. I tried to burn at 2.4 on a DVD+RW and it seems fine. I'll try the reg 4x speed on my next burn

Try it at 4x and I bet the choppiness subsides. If it doesn't, try a higher quality media. You didn't mention what yer using, but cheapo media can cause glitches and skipping too.
