  2. Hello celticbhoy.

    4.40GB should easily fit onto a dvd-r.

Did Xpress tell you why it couldn't write to the disc?
Have you try burning the files generated by Xpress with another program (Nero, RecordNow, CopytoDVD,...)?

  6. IF YOU HAVE DVD X COPY PLATINUM YPU CAN REMOVE UNWANTED SUBTITLES & SOUND TRACKS TO MAKE THE MOVIE FIT CHECK THE COMPRESSION IN THE SECOND MENU AFTER YOU HAVE SELECTED THE TITLES IN THE FIRST MENU
I HAVE DVD X COPY PLATINUM AND HAVE NO PROBLEMS
IF OU HAVE PROBLEMS THEN USE DVD SHRINK AND BURN WITH NERO

  8. THE PROBLEM YOU SEEM TO BE FINDING HARD TO GRASP IS DVD9 DISC WHICH ARE DUEL LAYER DISC & DVDR DISC ARE SINGLE LAYER SO TO FIT THE DATA FROM DVD9 DISC TO DVDR DISC IT MUST BE COMPRESSED IF YOU WANT ALL THE EXTRA FEATURES I DOUBT IF THERE IS ANY FAULT WITH YOUR DVD X COPY EXPRESS BUT WHICH VERSION DO YOU HAVE
I HAVE HEARD THAT DVD X COPY EXPRESS CAN BE A PROBLEM BUT I HAD THAT VERSION AND HAD NO PROBLEMS BUT I THEN LATER UPGRADED TO THE PLATINUM VERSION WHICH ALSO INCLUDED THE DVD X COPY EXPRESS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO JUST CLICK AND COMPRESS THE FULL MOVIE + EXTRAS
YOU SEE YOUR VERSION MAY NOT LAT YOU SELECT WHICH TITLES & CHAPTERS & SUBTITLES & SOUNDTACK YOU WANT ON YOUR FINAL DVD
MY ADVICE WOULD BE IF YOU CANT SELECT THESE OPTIONS THEN USE DVD SHRINK WHICH IS A FREEWARE ALSO USE NERO TO BURN YOUR FINAL DISC TRY THE GUIDES ON THIS SITE FOR MORE INFO
    HOPE THIS HELPS

DVDXCopy platinum does not let you remove audio tracks and or subtitles. The only way it will let you is to run in simple mode and then do movie only. You cannot remove unwanted audio or subtitles in full DVD mode....and even then You can only select one audio track and 1 subtitle.
