  1. Does anyone know how to put a Mpeg still and a subpicture back together for authoring ?

I have ripped an episodic DVD into each episode and have ripped the menus using VOB Snoopy into Mpeg Stills (m2v) and subpicture files (.sup).

I normally use DVD Maestro to author, but I see no way that I can get the subpicture into Maestro. Is there a way, or am I going to have to inport a BMP from the Mpeg Still into DVD Menu and add a subpicture myself.

Or is there another way of ripping the menus and keeping the menus intact ?

    Thanks for any help.

  2. In an effort to backup my M*A*S*H Episodic DVD's, I ran into the same problem! I found a way around it, I used the program "SubRip 1.17.1" It is really used to extract Sub-Titles from VOB files, but if you open the VOB that contains your menu images using the SubRip program, it will then prompt you to save each individual sub-picture that coincides with the menu bitmap files, as individual bitmap files. From there you can import them into Maestro and customize the sub-picture to match the 4 color pattern that the sub-picture was saved in. You can extract the individual Bitmaps from the menu's using DVD2AVI, POWERDVD or the like. Hope this helps, I know I searched the internet High and Dry, and did not find an application dedicated to extracting the Sub-picture Bitmaps out of The original DVD Vob files.

There is a program called DVDMenu that allows you to change links from buttons on existing DVD Menu's, but it did not save any sub-picture BMP's only MENU bitmaps.

    Good Luck!!
