  1. I have an avermedia card that is bundled with NeoDVD Standard 4. It works ok because I am not real sensitive about a DVD having perfect video like others on this board. I haven't had any problems at all with audio and video sync, but my main complaint is that the software only lets you have 6 chapters maximum which is a full 20 minutes apart in a 2 hr. DVD. Also, every DVD I have ever made with NeoDVD Standard 4 will only let my DVD players play them back and search in FF at 2X if you are skipping through the movie, any search faster makes it go back to the main menu. How in the world they would ever think 6 chapters max woud be acceptable is beyond me. I downloaded Pinnacle but it was for DV, not an analog capture. I have tried Nerovision 2 and although it recognizes the avermedia capure board, it does not show up in the view window if you try to capture video. So, I basically am looking for a good analog capture program that allows multiple chapters, not only six and that will work with my cheap avermedia pci card. Actually, I got the avermedia at MicroCenter for $37 and it had a $30 rebate so it ended up only costing me $7. I made number of movies from my VHS tapes to DVD and they all came out fine with an exception of a loud Pop in the audio about every 30 minutes which I haven't been able to track down.

  2. The capture software really has nothing to do with chapters. Chapter points are done in the authoring step.

Ihere is IFOEDIT. If you want good tools at a reasonable price, then there is DVD-Lab and TMPGENC DVD Author.

  3. I really don't know about the authoring whether it is done byNeoDVD Standard o DVD EZ Maker Gold version 4.1 which is on the installation disk. I just needed an inexpensive program that will let you place more chapters before the burn to DVD. TMPGenc cost a pretty good buck, I have tried it through the trial and it works fine. As far as NeroVision 2, I downloaded it from their website and it currently lets you run until Jan 32 which is a good trial period. It did let me place as many chapters as wanted when I made a SVCD from a half hour video when I tested it.
