Has anyone had any success getting a homemade DVD to work on a Hitachi DV-P305 or a Samsung DVD-V2000 (DVD/VHS dual combo)? The DVD's work on other players, just not these two.
I'm using Fujifilm DVD+R media and commericial DVDs burned on this media play back fine on the Hitachi and Samsung players I have here. This leads me to believe that in my case the authoring is the problem. I've used SpruceUP and DVD Complete to author the discs but haven't had any success getting them to work on the Hitachi and Samsung players. The source video is DVD/MPEG-2 compliant at 720x480 with a constant bitrate of 8000 Kbps. I've tried using 2 channel AC3 and PCM audio without any luck. I used Nero to burn the discs using UDF formats 1.02 and 1.5.
I was wondering if these players were picky in regards to how the discs are authored. I.e., maybe using IFOEDIT or some other program can fix my problem. Does anyone know of a better authoring program to use?
Thanks,
-Dan

I have the same problem with my Hitachi DV-P315, I only use that for commercial DVDs. It stutters and freezes on that particular player. Given that your DVDs play fine on everything else, I wouldn't change a thing.
