I know this topic has been posted over and over and over but I'd like to know if I can get some advice specific to my setup.

I have a Tivo with lots of programs saved. I would like to burn them to DVD. I have a Pinnacle PCTV capture board with S-Video and Composite. Side note, I think this capture card sucks. I have the Tivo video connected to it. I have the Tivo sound connected to the Line In port on my PC. I am using a a 2.5(3.5?)mm stereo jack to RCA converter to plug in the audio from the Tivo. The Audio is Realtek AC97.

When I capture from Tivo the video quality looks "okay". It's the audio that's terrible. I don't the captures are wothy of burning to DVD audio because of this. I have tried adjusting the Pinnacle PCTV software to optimize the audio quality. It sounds good when the audio is being fed. But, after viewing the captures, it's awful. None of the adjustments I make seem to reproduce the audio properly.

Can anyone recommend some steps and/or solutions for making good video and audio captures and burning to DVD on my PC? I am seriously considering buying a standalone DVD recorder rather than continue trying to burn using my PC.

I have a 2.4Ghz Pentium 4, 512MB RAM, 160 Gigs of storage, Pinnacle PCTV Tuner and Capture board, and Nvidia GeForce 2 video card.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm also open to good equipment recommendations.
