  1. Hi All

I am new to all this and was hoping someone could advise me of a good recorder that will do the following

I am looking for a DVD recorder that will allow me to connect to my Dish Network reciever to record TV shows (basically replace my VCR) but also be able to connect to my PC to create data CDs.

Is there such a model out there that can do this with the minimum fuss

    Thanks in advance

  2. im not sure if u tried the dvdplayers section on the left it lets u select the crieria for a player and search different modles that meet them, as for me i use a wintv card on my pc and use my pc's dvd burner to put my shows on dvd, this way i have far more control over what goes on the disc like menus etc, and cut the crap out like adds, dvd recorders are far more expensive and not as reliable yet so even if u bought a tv/cap card a dvd burner and a stand alone dvd player ud still spend less money?? what do others think its just my opinion???

  3. Thanks for the input Skip

I have been browsing the other sections but still do not come up with a suitable unit. I am looking for something which I can move between PC and TV (desktop) and not so much move my PC to my TV. I have so many things connected to my PC it would be a nightmare to move it. I saw many desktop units but none seem to be able to use as an external DVD burner on a PC with USB or something

If anyone has any idea of a suitable DVD recorder I would be grateful for your input

    Thanks
