Pacific 1002W - UK ksvcd files

I read a lot about the Pacific 1002W B4 I bought it from asda.
I can't get it to play a S.W.A.T skvcd disc I have, my friends with other makes of player have no probs playing it.

The player sees the disc as vcd2.0 and shows 76 mins on the display, but when I press play I just get the blue stop sign in the top left corner.
Is there a work around for this?
Or can anyone recomend a current/cheap player that will play most files incl mpg/svcd/mp3/ksvcd/xsvcd.

the alba DVD55 from toysrus in the uk is a good player.
i got one for my parents christmas,and it seems to play all the discs ive chucked at it,no problems at all.
its £39.99,from most branches.

On the compatibility page the Alba only shows vcd. And only 1 person has anything good to say about it

I took the Pacific back to Asda for a refund, then went to WH Smiths and bought a Cyberhome CH DVD 400, Wow what a player 10/10
