  1. I have been sitting here for hours now trying to to do the final encode (in TPMDEnc) for a VCD movie and when I press start get an error message saying cant encode to an external device. Have been thru everything this tiny brain can think of.
I am using a write up from www.afterdawn called "DVD to VCD with smartripper DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc".
just out of interest my wav file is 765mb and d2v file is only 324kb is this right ?
    can any body please help?
    regards

Perfectly fine. That's the way it should be. That "external device" message seems a little odd tho...

  5. the exact message is
"can not be used as external encoder"
The exact files am using are
    video source C:\ripped\vts_01.d2v
    audio source C:\ripped\vts_01 LPCM TO1 44.1KHz.wav
    output C:\vts_01.mpg
These file names were put in by the program as I didn't do it.
Have tried one other thing I used only the video file and changed to
"ES video" and it started encoding relly weird

Ah - Glad you found it - Happy ripping!

    /Mats
PS! If you got toolame.exe somewhere on your box, use this as external audio encoder. Much better than TMPGEncs built in. DS!
