Capturing VHS tapes from my personal collection via a setup as follows.
Play tapes through JVC HM-DH30000U DVHS player, Svideo and composite to Canon Elura 45MC, Firewire passthru to computer, capture with WinDV.
Tmpgenc's CQ mode is awesome, i'm convinced it's better than VBR plus faster, but I can't even guess at the final file size. So my question is, should I continue to convert to CQ and shrink with DVD2one, or DVDShrink, or whatever, or should I just convert with CBR. (VBR is out of the question becasue I already paid for TMPGEnc and VBR is too slow)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
