Hi,
I tried to wipe the slate clean, and only installed the following codecs:
Divx 3.11
AC3 Filter
OGG, MP3 codecs
FFDShow
MPEG2 Codec
(Windows 2000 Pro, Windows Media Player 6.4)
But all of the avi files are still playing like they're in super slow motion, while the audio is perfectly fine -- therefore audio/video are out of sync. I am not sure what else to do...
I ran GSpot on a xvid file I use for testing my codecs, and the results in the video codec field reported that there were 3 compatible codecs installed in my system: FFDShow decoder, and two Divx decoder filters. FFDShow didn't show any errors; however, the two divx decoders were said to be "misconfigured". I clicked on the info, and they both said that "divxdec.ax" file was missing in the WINNT\system32 folder. Could this be the cause of the super slow motion playback problem? How will I fix this?
(The weird thing, though, that The GSpot Rendering test was successful -- maybe that was a false positive?)
I am at my wit's end. All mpeg files play just fine; but every avi files on my HD has this problem.
Thanks for any help...
Spiffy
