I have an Optorite DD0203 which worked fine when I had it hooked up to my older PC. Just build a new PC with an Intel 3.0 Ghz CPU and Intel Mobo. I have had trouble with the burner since.
I flashed with newest firmware but now cannot read anything in it. All software recognize the drive but as soon as a burn starts, it gives me a disc burn failure. I have used the same program and several different disks but get the same message.
I am under warrantly and have got an RMA to return it. I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble with this type of situation.
I am also looking to get a different burner (either Pioneer A06 or LDW411S). Both have rebates that bring them down to under a $100 and I can alway put the returned Optorite (after repair) in the older PC again.
Which of the two would you recommend?

That drive is constructed so shitty it's almost hard to believe. Being that the specs are almost identical to that of the SONY DRU-530A, your OptoWRONG was D.O.A.
