burning movie and playing on playstation 2?

If I download a movie in mpeg format, can I burn it onto a dvd-cd and then play it onto a playstaion 2?

Or is there another step that i have to do?

by itself, the PS2 will not play an MPEG2 file. It will need to be authored, just like any other DVD.

Also, some PS2s will play burned DVDs, others won't, and media can be hit or miss as well.

There is a lot more experimentation that needs to go along with making a DVD work in a PS2 than it does on a regular stand alone.

I'll also suggest doing a forum search on burned DVDs on playstations.
