    Can anyone tell me if a QSI SDRW/DVD SBW-241 Internal laptop drive can be converted/software installed etc to enable the drive to write DVD's. Only writes to CD and but can read DVD.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Unfortunately, it's simply not possible. The laser inside a cd writer can't be modified without A LOT of heavy work (ie it's a lot better to simply buy a dvd writer).
