  1. The Station Identification.

Instead of just saying " WMLD 109.1"

    They say

"W... L... N... D... 109.1... Were rock lives, your listening to another rock block of great songs Blaa Blaa Blaa Blaa Blaa..."

Just play freakn' music. I think I would rather listen to another commercial.

I know by law they have to tell you what station you are listening to because we are freakn' morons and cant read the LCD readout on the radio.

God, just say it and get it over with!

    Done ranting... I'm ok now.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

If you live in the Dallas area then hope I win the lottery. Ihave an idea for a radio station that kicks ass... but no cash.

I agree... but I also dislike the fact that they play the same songs over and over... also that rock stations have over specialized themselves... we don't need 4 types of rock stations. And all the commercials... just pay the bills and be done with it.

In short... nothing good has come of the decision to let big companies canalbalize radio stations. The death of mom and pop radio was the death of good radio.

I don't listen to the radio anymore. They only play the same three songs in rotation, and they all suck. I'd much rather hear rock songs from the early 90s than the crap that is being produced today.

  5. There IS good music being produced today! They just don't play it on the radio. Do you think they aired the Sex Pistols in the early 80's? No, because everyone thought they were freaks who just played trashy noise. It wasn't until like 5-10 years later (after Sid was dead!) - that people finally got it - this was a revolutionary music. It's the same thing no matter what generation (or time period) you're talking about.

What I hate about radio - is the fact that like any mainstream media, you're never going to hear anything truly groundbreaking until it's hit the masses and circulated amongst the flock for about 5-10 years. My recommendation, check out your local college radio - or your friendly neighborhood pirate radio. YAARRRRR!!!

My advise is to stop listening to American music and listen to British bands, they are far more creative.

  8. Luckily in Australia we have a nation wide radio station called Triple J that is funded through the government so it is commercial free and plays music that the other stations won't.

Apart from that, the radio situation in Australia is pretty sucky.

Never heard of them. I prefer Space, The Shins, and bands like that. They have a nice British sounds, which I really like.

YES! I have Happy songs for happy people, great moody music. Anyone who wants a taste of it can watch some of their videos online, I highly suggest "Hunted by a Freak"... its what made me look into them.

  13. You mean there are radio stations that play music?!?

Nah, seriously I normally listen to talk radio and not music stations. So that stuff usually does not bother me at all.

However, I occationally listen to the 80s music station. I can tell you from experience, you have never been annoyed as much as hearing a whinny Japenesse women saying "We play CDs... so you don't have to."

    ACK!!!
