I have some Divx movies that I want to convert to DVD. These Divx movies are 23.976 fps progressive, so I'm wondering what the best method is for dealing with the frame rate. I'm not sure if I should be clicking the 'perform 3:2 pull down' checkbox in TMPGEnc, explicitly converting the frame rate to 29.97 fps, or simply using the 'perform 3:2 pull down during play' flag. I intend to play these DVDs on both stand-alone DVD players as well as on computers, if that makes any difference. Basically I just want these DVDs that I make to be done the same way that professional retail DVDs are, insofar as frame rate and progressive vs. interlaced is concerned.
