  1. Basic Question:

    Can I transfer a video from my PC to VCR by using the TV out on the Graphics card, or are there any hidden problems here.

    I only have the Canopus ADVC-50 which doesn't have output to VCR capability.

    Thanks

    The only way to figure out if you can transfer a video from your PC to your VCR is to hook things up and try,install software, try,reboot, try, change settings, try again and if everything else fails ... take a beer and try again.

    About the hidden problems, [yoda mode on]there will be, there will be[/yoda mode off]

    Should be able to but you might have to resize the output image. Check the www of your VGA card for any guides.

    Macrovision!

    You can't play a DVD on your computer and record it on your VCR. Macrovision is required on all new Video cards. Although it can be disabled......

  5. Thanks for all the help.

    Where I can make VCDs to give to people, there are still a few of my friends who don't have DVD players (or have a DVD player that won't even play CD-R audio!!!)

    What I want to do is to transfer a couple of MPEG files to VCR but opted for the Canopus ADVC-50. Macrovision shouldn't be a problem here as the file is already created.

    I will give it a go and see what happens.

    P.S. Sark, I hate beer, I'll have a Cider!

    @Cole,

    Any drink with a little alcohol in it will do, stay away of the coffee ... you don't want to get psyched up.

    Good luck
