  1. I love the Microsoft movie maker 2 product. Makes great slideshows. However, I'd like to save them as avi and eventually convert them to svcd. Unfortunately, none of the converters I've used seem to be able to read the dv-avi format in movie maker. any ideas...even convert a wme to avi.

    Microsoft supports 2 forms of DV-Avi (both are identical in terms of content, its just how the audio and video streams are interleaved thats different). They are lknown as DV avi type 1 and type 2 (imaginative naming!).

    Anyway, MS moviemaker produces type 1, many applications can only read type 2. You can convert from type1 to type 2. There is a program in the tools section to do this. This may solve oyur problem, hope it does.
