    i copied a few dvd movies and when i tried to play the copied ones, my ps2 couldn't read them. my question is, is everyone having that problem, or is it just me. do you need a special mod chip (just like you need with ps2 backup games), or is it maybe the media i'm using (i've tried tdk-r and khypermedia+r), or maybe the ps2s just can't play copied dvd movies....or maybe it's just because my ps2 is old?

    The newest versions PS2 don't have any troubles playing backup movies on dvd-r. If you have an older version you need a modchip for example the messiah.

    I have a first generation US and Japanese PS2 and have had no problems playing backup up DVDs on them.
