  1. Drive in Powere DVD, nothing would happen. The PowerDVD screen will flash a few seconds and nothing would appear. But if I opened up Windows Explorer and play from there is fine. However, if I click on the menu button, instead of the Movie menu I get "Edit Playlist" screen. I didn't have this problem on my other computer and I'm running out of ideas. I tried un-install/re-install many times but didn't help.

Here's the weird part, in PowerDVD, if I play from my DVD drive then it works normally. Meaning if I click on the menu then the movie menu with all the Language selection, Edit Setup, Extras, etc. Any idea how to fix this? I'm not sure if Winamp has to do with this....just a thought

  2. Are you using "Open DVD file on hard disk drive"?

Do you have all of the files from the DVD on your hard drive? You should have .vob's, .ifo's, and.bup's in a folder. Not just the .vob's

(This is just a pet peeve I guess but it's not good form to expect people to read your subject line as the first half sentence in your post. Subject line is subject line. The post should be complete)

  3. Yeah, I have all the files because I ripped it before. I have several movies I already ripped and still in the hard drive. It's not corrupted or anything like that because I was transfer the file over to my other computer and it works fine. Also, like I said, it work if I open it from Windows Explorer instead of from the PowerDVD screen.

To properly play a DVD from HDD, it should be in the shape of a mounted ISO image. I use Daemon tools for this. If I have no DVD in my physical drives, PowerDVD finds the mounted image and starts playback.

  5. Turn out it was a freakin bug or something. Uninstall/Reinstall would not help. I had to put in a DVD rom and play it once from the DVD drive. Next I tried to play it from the hard drive and it worked as it should. Thought all the file...vob,ifo,bup, etc are corrupted or something because I had a few movies I haven't burn to DVD yet.

BTW, you don't necessary need to have that daemon tool or mount your image inorder to play the file in PowerDVD. It's not worth going through all the trouble just to play the files that you just rip from your DVD. Just simply open the dvd file from hard drive option and browse to the VideoTS folder and click on any of the file and it should be fine.
