  1. I burned some VCD's and my home dvd player played these fine ...they looked great, but now it has stopped playing them and wont even load. Each time I put the disk in my dvd player says no disk loaded ...please insert disk.
Any help on why it once played them and now wont?
    Thanks

Have you tried opening and closing the DVD tray several times? This sometimes can help. Secondly when you played them the first time, and they worked, were they "freshly" burnt - meaning still pretty warm? It might sound ridiculous but providing the disc is not scratched, dusty or have other obstructive markings on them , the temperature can play a role. If your VCD's are stored pretty cool, warm them at room temperature (providing you don't live in a cooler!). Did you lable them after testing/playing them - if the media was this new very shiny sort (you can't actually see which side you burnt) could it be that you accidently labeled the false side? (Happened to me once!)
Should all of this not help and you have tested the VCD's on your PC, it may be that your DVD occular lens has become dusty/faulty. I read somewhere that dust usually isn't a problem with DVD Players because of the speed that the discs rotate - but leaving the tray open for some time can naturally cause this.
Hope this have given you some ideas...

  3. Thanks for your reply and suggestions.
I tried what you mentioned and no luck.
I played each of these disks only once and they played great and now they wont play at all.
    Its driving me crazy !!
I have warmed ,cleaned, and checked each disk.
I even thought maybe my dvd player was just fried, but its only 2 months old and my regular DVD's play in it fine,
it will only not play my VCD's now.
Well thanks again for your time and suggestions ... they are much appreciated.

  4. May be your media is getting damaged at the moment of reading it. Some DVD players that doesn't support some flavors of VCD's can damage your disc. Try on another DVD player to see what happens. Good Luck
