That's what I do too when I want them all on one disc. I put it on DVD.

  3. SVCD files are not compliant with the DVD spec.

You'd need to convert the files, or make a non-compliant disc.

Have you had a look at SVCD2DVD? - I'm sure there are guides for it on this site, and I think it does the conversion to DVD spec for you.

  4. I just join the MPEGs, demultiplex and author as a new DVD with IFOEdit. No other processes are required - although I think there are still issues with IFOEdit and NTSC movies.

There aren't too big. You just assume they are.

For SVCD and VCD, you can put 800 MB on a standard 700 MB CDR. No overburning involved (just no error correction).

Putting SVCD onto DVDR isn't simple, since the resolution isn't standard, it's much simpler to get up and change the disk 1/2 way through. Besides, just work from your original DVD and back that up to DVDR???

  8. It depends really - are the MPEG's in the form of SVCD?

    SVCD Specification

    PAL

    max 2600 kbit/sec MPEG-2 (Audio + Video bitrate max bitrate is 2778 kbit/s).
    480 x 576 pixels (CVD 352x576)
    25 frames/second
with up to 4 Selectable CVD or SVCD Subtitles

    Audio:
    44100 Hz
    32 - 384 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2 or MPEG2 Audio
with up to 2 Audio Tracks

    Extra :
    Menus and chapters.
    Still pictures 704x576,352x288

    NTSC (NTSC Film)

    Video:
    max 2600 kbit/sec MPEG-2 (Audio + Video bitrate max bitrate is 2778 kbit/s).
    480 x 480 pixels (CVD 352x480)
    29,97 frames/second
    23,976 frames/second with 3:2 pulldown (NTSC Film)
with up to 4 Selectable CVD or SVCD Subtitles

    Audio:
    44100 Hz
    32 - 384 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2 or MPEG2 Audio
with up to 2 Audio Tracks

    Extra :
    Menus and chapters.
    Still pictures 704x480,352x240
Depending on what format they're all in - you may only need to author, rather than re-encode as well.

I'm no expert on DVD authoring though - I'd have a look at the guides for authoring a DVD - maybe look at ones that refer to episode-type DVD's.

    cheers,
    mcdruid.
