  1. Hi, I followed these instructions.

    From Amazon.co.uk
    1. Switch on the DVD player and press the eject button
    2. Using the remote control, press the "setup" button to display the setup menu
    3. Press the right arrow key four times to highlight the preference page
    4. Enter on the remote control "1379"--this will display the current region code setting (default is region 2)
    5. Press the up and down arrows to choose your region setting. When set to region 0 your machine will play most titles
    6. Press setup again to save and exit the menu
When I try following step 3 I get stuck. On my setup menu there are four options : Language, Video, Audio and Ratings - nothing else, so how do move to the "preferences" page? I have also tried leaving the ratings menu highlighted and entering the code but I don't see a region code anywhere. Is there something I'm doing wrong with my settings or something?

  2. Hi

Maybe this was you but I've just seen this on amazon:

I recieved the yamada 2500 but the amazon hack given on the web page did not work, after searching through the internet i found a new revised hack for the player which worked.
    1. Press "Eject" button on the remote control to open/eject the disc tray.
    2. Press number "2812" on the remote control, the factory default region code will be displayed on the TV screen.
    3. Press "Play" button to select the region ( please note that we defined digit "9" instead "0" for region free) code.
    4. Press "Setup" button to exit settings.
Thinking of buying one as I'm after something cheap that will play DVD-MP3s. Is it any good ?

  4. Yep, it works. The player alone is really good, I've tried NTSC and PAL which play perfectly, as does DVD-R. I haven't tried DVD-MP3 though.
