  1. my OS is win98. my mpeg ,mpg files can be played but at a avg. rate of 2 frames/sec. i have tried lots of installing/reinstalling/uninstalling codecs & windows media player latest versions, etc. All other formats like avi, mov, asf play fine! I have a rivatnt 2 with Creative Dxr3 video-out card so my mpg files played through that card work fine! i'm not sure that this is something to do with my .dlls! i'm struggling to figure out this one! please help!

  3. all my mpg, mpeg are downloaded! plus if i use my windows media player or any such software it does the same thing 2frames/sec even with vcds! if the windows mpeg1 decoder was corrupted then i could've repaired it ! but this has stumped me and i guess most of the forum members !

  4. Next, which mplayer are you using?? Have u tried going back to mplayer 6.2?? or 6.4??

    Any suspicious TSR??

I can't picture what/how the mpeg is playing?? Like slow motion??

Do you have powerdvd or dvdplayer software and tried to play the mpegs thru it??

Sounds like a confict in drivers. Extreme test: install 98 on old hd and reload video and codecs one at a time, make current hd a slave and play downloaded mpegs.

  5. ok i used virtual dub & intervideo windvd to play the mpeg, mpg all work properly! but its not playing in windows media player, vcdcutter ! it skips frames so if its 30 frames/sec i see only two frames in one second so it is like a jerky video as if when scratched vcds skip ! if its working in virtual dub and working thru my dvd player does that mean that its probably the drivers ???

    thank you for helping !

  7. So, if vdub plays it correctly, maybe make a test mpeg by frameserving >> tmpgenc/cce/lsx. Here's how i frameserve: http://www.vcdhelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=63350&forum=2

Maybe someone can jump in that give us another approach to the problem.
