    i flashed my drive with Herries 107v4 A-Version RPC 1 hacked firm so that i could burn some disks i picked up at a good price, NERO now tells me my imaton disks (DVD+R) that were burning at 4x now will only do 2.4x. Any ideas on a fix? this is the only problem that i have noticed as of yet.

    upgrade to latest 1.08 official. Thats the problem with older firmwares, they might not let you burn some discs at full speed, or sometimes not at all.

    I have tried that also and its still reading them at 2.4, and that was with the official 1.08

    i just tried some memorex 4x dvd+r media and those will burn at 4x, must have just had a few bad imation disks in the batch that didnt like 4x.

    revert to the firmware you were using when it worked.

    maybe the new firmware have limited it to 2.4x cause the media is crappy, so its a safety precausion?

    firmware 1.09 is out, seems to be good. Try that one
