ADVC-100 - What would be the fastest processing to Divx?

Reading, reading, reading...

Trying to figure out what would be the fastest processing of captured by ADVC-100 video to DivX - to be later played on stand-alone MPEG-4 player (LVD-2001 - in my case).
Assuming the same settings for the final DivX file (2-pass encoding at 1000 kbps; progressive) I noticed the following:
Wrapping of DV file (using Scenalyzer) makes substantial difference - DV-type 2 is faster then DV-type 1 (also faster then Canopus-type 2 and Canopus-type 1).
Dr DivX (DirectShow app) is faster then AviSynth/Gordian Knot (about 40% faster).

I left aside editing - only encoding is the issue...

What are your experiences?

My experience is that Dr. DivX is crap and that Gordian Knot is the way to go.

Also 1,000kbps is NOT bad but if you want full screen 640x480 to look good consider 1,500kbps. Of course this is dependant on the source but captures tend to need a higher bitrate than DVD rips due to the imperfect nature of analog captures vs the digital clearity of DVD

For audio do 192kbps (or higher) MP3 audio.

Unfortunately I have "old" Tyan's Trinity 400 - the fastest processor I can stick in is 1.4G P3 (or Celeron).
Going from 320x240 to 640x480 makes encoding very slow (in my case from 2 hours to about 5-6 hours) - Bidirectional Encoding on, Bilinear Resize Filter, Standard Performance/Quality, 0.00 of motion, Fast Psychovisual Enhancement, and no Preprocessing.
The idea is to get about 90 mins of satellite TV broadcasting on ONE CD-R.
I haven't noticed any difference in the final video quality between AviSynth/Gordian Knot and Dr. DivX - looks very close to TV quality on 32-inch TV (when played back from MPEG4 player).

Not ready yet for upgrading my PC, yet...
Waiting for DDRII and PCI Express .

Well all I can say is if you think 320x240 looks good on a 32-inch TV then you definately need glasses man.

I don't care HOW much bitrate you through at it.

So I'm dropping out of this thread.
