I have a Samsung DVD-HD931 dvd player and made some home movies to be put on dvd-r (Ritek GO4 and Maxel).

The problem is, the home movies I made that have ac3 audio, the video stutters, but when I made the home movies in mp2 and mpa audio, the movie is perfectly fine.

I used the ffmpegGUI ac3 encoder.

I'm really disappointed since my friend's $30 dvd player and other dvd players play the movies just fine with the ac3 audio.

Hell, this thing can't player xvcds either, but my friend's $30 dvd player could!

Just disappointed that a $300 dvd player can't play these movies I made with the ac3 audio.

If there is any way to get around this, please let me know !

  2. Simplest, easiest, most direct method costs $30.00.

  3. ffmpeg does not create fully compliant AC3, neither does Besweet. Solution: What Nelson said :P

    or

    Use PCM.

    or

Drop big cash on a Dolby Digital certified audio encoder.

I still don't understand how a dvd player can be better than a $300 dvd player. Maybe the drive in the $30 dvd player must be better or something.

Don't want to use pcm audio because the file size is too big.

Is there a way to rip the dvd and demux the video and audio streams of the .vob files and convert the audio back to mp2?

if thats possible, great, but more work damnit.

if ffmpeggui isn't a compliant ac3 encoder, than whats the point of using it then or EVEN calling it a AC3 encoder?

    Bunch of BS

    Thanks for the help guys

Well, define "better." My Apex AD-1100W will play almost any format with any audio. Does it make it "better" than any other DVD player? I doubt it. ffmpeg an besweet are FREE programs that work with the vast majority of players (unfortunately not all). Can't answer you rip question...

Use InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2 ... has 3 audio formats to choose from.

    LPCM ... Mpg or AC-3

Two ways to make a DVD with InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2

    1) ... Use the function built in ... but only have 1 hour for full resolution

    2) ... Just use the file output function ... full resolution and high bitrate.

then use TMPGEnc DVD Author ... to create the DVD Vob folder.

Too big ... wont fit ... Shrink it with DVDShrink or Nero Recode.

    Works for me :P

My $40 Apex consistantly plays anything when anything over $100 has issues. It used to be that way to get Progressive output, but that's absolutely not the case anymore.

Kinda makes ya wonder what the real difference between a $40 and a $240 player?

    One difference I know

The $40 buck Apex DVD Player wont play DVDs burnt to DVD+R.

    But will play ... DVD+RW ... wierd.
